Fourteen stations are now open and the new line carries about 50,000 passengers a day. It connects to Line 1 (north-south), which is already equipped with Thales systems.

Thales equipped 14 radio sites on Line 2, which crosses the city from east to west, each of which is equipped with transceivers to relay communications between stations, tunnels and the command post. Thales has also deployed a dedicated control post for monitoring communications along the entire length of the line.

For the equipment part of the contract, Thales supplied the fixed terminals for the driver consoles of the metro trains as well as ruggedized mobile terminals for security agents, cleaning and maintenance staff.

The network enables users to create dedicated workgroups as well as dynamic groups managed by the control post in the event of an incident or crisis. The network provides radio coverage of all stations and tunnels and links them with the command post. System availability is guaranteed by equipment redundancy and radio coverage redundancy to meet the availability requirements that are mandatory for public transport systems.
